"Vasculum I", is based on the 18th/19th century metal boxes used to collect plant specimens in the field. My Vasculum is oversized, set on rocker legs, lined with baby blankets, and contains a two-channel video depicting a botanist collecting seeds for a seed bank. The sound of her collecting is foleyed with baby rattles. The entire sculpture merges plant iconography with objects used to care for human infants.
