I am interested in how the domestic interior landscape relates to the outdoor world: how we tend, collect, clean, classify, and create order wherever we go. "Specimen" is a large wool rug handmade and dyed by me with plants collected from Austin. "Specimen" is designed to look like a sheet of botanical specimen collection paper, the type that is typically used to mount plants on. In lieu of plants, I have woven two overlapping bodies into the middle of my rug.
